DemCon 2008 - Let's Get Ready to Rumble!
Okay, so the actual Democratic Convention site is a lot more sedate but hey,
there is some good information out there.
Take me to DemCon!

The Week in Superdelegates
The DNC site has a running list of Superdelegates and when they declared support for each candidate. Here is the listing for the last week:
4-21-08 - Added DNC Enid Goubeaux (OH) for Obama
4-23-08 Added Gov. Brad Henry (OK) for Obama.
- Added Rep. John Tanner (TN) for Clinton
- Added DNC Audra Ostergard (NE) for Obama
4-24-08 - Added Rep. David Wu (OR) for Obama
4-26-08 - Added Kathy Sullivan (NH)# new NH add-on, for Clinton. Added DNC Charlene Fernandez (AZ) new AZ state vice-chair, for Obama.
4-28-08 - Added Sen. Jeff Bingaman (NM) for Obama
Check it Out!
Today Obama added another Super Superdelegate, Jeff Bingaman (NM). It could not have come at a better time with all of the media focused (again) on the "Wright stuff".

2012, A Different Kind of Hope
You are Hillary Clinton, statistically speaking you cannot win this race. You hope daily for a serious Obama-gaffe and you actively campaign to weaken Obama for November (secretly hoping for a loss to McCain), leaving the door open for you in 2012. Only then can you be the
Savior of the Democratic Party
There is a fine line between savior and destroyer and it is a moral one.
Senator Clinton, you do not have the moral ground to stand on to support you.

Pennsylvania Democrats and Future Shock
The demographics of Pennsylvania, coupled with the closed Democratic Primary
worked to hand Clinton a
9.37% Victory Margin over Obama
Will the upcoming open primaries of Indiana and North Carolina be so kind?
I think not.

SurveyUSA and the Average Political Survey
I check out www.realclearpolitics.com on a daily basis (sometimes more!). What I noticed is that one of the polling agencies is consistently out of the polling range, by a significant amount in each state. Take Pennsylvania for example, the latest polls show Clinton's lead somewhere between 3 and 9 points, while SurveyUSA holds at 14. More interesting is Indiana where the latest polls are giving Obama a slight edge yet, thanks to SurveyUSA, Clinton is currently enjoying a:
16 point lead, putting her ahead of Obama by 2.2?
Say what? You need to check it out for yourself, I have nothing helpful to add here.

Hold the Door!
For the rest of the superdelegates - I predict that the trickle of delegates to Obama will turn to a downpour - sooner rather than later.

Shame on Who?
Lucky for me I recorded the debate last night, it was the shortest one to date. thanks to that nifty fast forward feature. It was some time before I came to a question that was worth talking about, much less answering. Let us Hope that this is:

Frankly ...
Author Richard Cohen learned that the word "frankly" usually meant that a lie was soon to follow. Case in point, Hillary Clinton's statement about Barack Obama's unfortunate choice of words in San Francisco:
"elitist, out of touch and, frankly, patronizing,"
Really? Read on.

Yikes! The Laugh is Back.

You know, I really do enjoy the laugh/cackle but ...
Laughing off the serious stuff instead of giving an answer?
If that is a political tactic, it is a new one for me.
Though it is still entertaining, if you don't think about it.
Colin Powell has Praise for Obama
Though Colin Powell has not officially endorsed any of the presidential candidates, he
did have this to say (and more) about Barack Obama:
“With Senator Obama, he didn’t have a lot of experience running a presidential campaign, did he?” Mr. Powell said. “But he seems to know how to organize a task, and he seems to know how to apply resources to a problem at hand.”

The Real Popular Vote Count
Anybody who has been paying any attention to the Democratic primary process can probably
tell you the delegate lead is 132-166 and the popular vote lead is roughly 800,000 (both for Obama).

Primary Colors by Anonymous
We watched the movie Primary Colors last night - how did I ever miss that one?
At any rate, it was a really good movie based (not so loosely) on the Clinton's first race to the White House.
Yeah! I want to check it out!
